Vented Spouts

Vented Diesel Spout Products

DEF stands for Diesel Exhaust Fluid. In order to meet EPA emissions regulations, diesel engine manufacturers have developed a diesel engine system that oxidizes restricted emission agents in the exhaust. Nitrogen is required in this chemical reaction. The nitrogen in introduced into the exhaust system in the form or UREA. DEF is essentially 28% UREA and 72% water.

The Bomag DEF spouts are used in small container application. The most common opening on these containers is a 38mm/400 and our line of principal DEF spouts fit this opening. We also make DEF spouts to fit other opening configurations such as 63mm and 45mm. These spouts are not limited to DEF and can be used for any application requiring a flexible pouring spout. Our Vented DEF spouts are patented! Patent No. 8727187 All products can be produced in any specified color.

63 CSTA

The 63 CSTA stands for Crimp on, Standard Extendable Spout designed to fit a 63mm plastic or steel pail opening. The 63 CSTA fits standard plastic pail lids with molded openings common in most 5 gallon pails that are designed to accept a crimp on plastic/steel spout or an all plastic press on spout. The 63mm refers to the ID of the lid molded opening. The 63STA also fits on a steel pail lid with the appropriate 63mm opening stamped into the lid. We do have steel stamping dies available which will press this opening into standard gage steel pail lids.

63 CSTA Closure

The 63STA is capable of meeting UN and DOT performance parameters associated with the specific package it is being used with. These performance standards are based on performance of the entire package, rather than just the closure alone.

We offer manual, pneumatic, and semi-automatic crimping tools to affix the 63STA or the 63CAGL to plastic or steel pails and lids.

63 CAGL

The 63AGL stands for 63mm crimp on spout with an anti-glug feature. When pouring contents from a 5 gallon pail, as the liquid leaves the pail, air tries to get back into the pail to fill the space left empty by the lowered liquid level within the pail. This inrushing of air causes inconsistent discharge of the fluid from the pail resulting in a glugging effect. This closure reduces the glugging.

All other characteristics are the same as the 63STA.

TINT PLUGS

TINT PLUGS are intended to be used on plastic pails containing a base, normally white, paint. To infuse colorants into, typically a 5 gallon pail, the TINT PLUG is removed and colorants are added through the 42mm TINT PLUG opening. The tint plug has a finger pull ring for easy grasping and removal. After the tint is introduced into the package the tint plug is pressed back into place forming a seal so the pail can be shaken or transported without spilling paint.
